- trusteeIf you are reading this please know the new website is mybrittanyplace.com. We changed it about two years ago. If you need to contact one of the four trustees you just click on contact and you can send any or all of us your message. I am sorry if anyone feels we am not doing our job, I wish you could of atleast shown up at the subdivision meeting to voice your concerns. We do the best we can with very little support from the residents. The bylaws are as GENERIC as they come. The only way we could change them if residents would SHOW up at the meetings, not just the same 10 families. My e mail is always open layfieldjennifer@att.net Would love to hear from you.
- TrusteesI don't think they even look at this website any more - they have created a new one at:
http://www.mybrittanyplace.com/
Funny though - there is no message board there. - trustees do your jobsdear brittany place subdivision trustees
i would like to ask that each of you please do the jobs that you volunteered to do or get off the board of trustees. our subdivision looks like crap. there are houses in here that have been vacant that look 10 times better than some that are occupied. there are broken down and mismatched fences that need to be painted. there are work trailers on our street that make it difficult to acess our driveway everyday!!!!! the trailers are not supposed to be there!!! we pay too much in realestate taxes to have our subdivision look like this. please take the subdivisions bi laws and actually enforce them to make this subdivision a nicer place. - Termites Are In Brittany PlaceBeware neighbors the Termites are here. We recenlty had flying Termites in our home. They do this in the spring - some may think they are ants - our luck did not hold out. Called Amco Ranger for a free inspection. They showed me the mud trails and evidence of the infestation. They offer free inspections so it could not hurt - they can be there and you may not know until they cause damage. You can call Charlie Sloan with Amco Ranger 636-928-3084 or Cell 314-568-6987.
Lets all fight them - if only a few of us install bait stations they will continue to spread. Tell Charlie Ron Schmitt told you call. P.S. Charlie also found Termites at our neighbors home. They seem to be great people - office is just a mile or so away and they have been in business for a long time.
P.S. If you did find you had Termites - Post it on the internet site - maybe more will call for the inspections. If you want to know the difference in look between Termites and Ants you can call me at 636-477-0982.
Thanks, Ron and Lisa. - I sent this letter to the city today:'I live in Brittany Place and this past Saturday we had a mess in our subdivision. The traffic control person at the one entrance to our subdivision was directing traffic into our subdivision without being told ahead of time that there is no way out. So because people could not get back out they were parking in our subdivision instead. They blocked driveways, mailboxes and walked (some with dogs) through resident’s yards to the parade. I tried to keep mine and my neighbors mailboxes clear on our court but people refused to listen and blocked us in anyway. We got no mail service on Saturday because of it and were treated rudely and our property disrespected.
I know the city likes to attract visitors for the parade and celebration but next year please think about offering parking somewhere other than in the neighborhood surrounding the event. Our subdivision has a sign at the entrance that says resident parking only but no one pays any attention to that. My son was late for work because he could not get out of the subdivision for 20 minutes (we are the 2nd house in from the street!) The businesses in the strip mall across the street could not get customers in because their lot was full and so were the streets surrounding it. There were cars parked all the way up to the corner of Hwy N blocking the entrance all but one cars width. Most of these people did not spend any money in Cottleville on Saturday - they came for the parade, parked for free and left 4 hours later! I have the license plate numbers of several of the cars illegally parked in my neighborhood if the city would like to issue parking tickets.
I called the police department twice and was told that all the officers were busy with the parade. What would have happened if we had a real emergency in my neighborhood - the fire department nor the ambulance would not have been able to get in or out? I even talked to the Dare office at the Mobile station and he blew me off saying that he was working on his day off. I was told that there was an officer in my neighborhood controlling the traffic - there was not.
This was a real burden on the tax paying citizens of Cottleville this weekend. People were parking from 10:00 until 2:00 and some didn't leave until late. Not to mention the traffic nightmare that occurred after the parade. That's when we really needed a traffic control person and no one was there then! It took a good 2 hours for all the cars to get out of the neighborhood that had parked because we only have one way in and out.
PLEASE! Do something different next year!'
I suggest that if the city does not do anything different next year that we set up a booth just past the strip mall entrance and charge $25 for parking in our neighborhood. It may discourage some from parking there and the others will help to defray our association fees. We could have paid everyone in the neighborhoods fees next year if we had done this on Saturday!
- Subdivision Garage SaleIs there going to be a subdivision garage sale this year? Is there a date picked out for it?
- Christmas DecorationsHappy Holidays! I know that we as residents of Brittany Place are glad to have a light contests, however, I think there should be some rules. Some have elected to put up things in their yards that do not represent the spirit of Chirstmas at all, but look like a bordello. I think this is very inappropriate being that there are many children in the community. Two deer doing things that have nothing to do with Christmas may be humorous, but very inappropriate for children. Next year I think there should obviously be some rules!! Too bad some have to ruin it for many. I personally as with others see this as a total lack of class and not the representation we want for our neighborhood. Grow up people!!
- Looking for a babysitter? Are you in need of a babysittter? I am reliable and close to home! CPR Certified with 5 years of experiance. If Interested please contact Sarah at 636-352-9944, or Email- Sarah_ann_08@msn.com. Thanks!
- MoDot numberI work for Modot. Please understand that Modot Assist only assists from Hwy 40 to 94. They turn around at 94 and head east bound 40. Don't know why, but I'm trying to find out why myself.
Also you can call 888-ASK-MODOT to find out STATE Hwy roads maintained by Modot or having any issues with lights, pot holes, limited sight distance for overgrowth of trees. They do help out and are very fair individuals - Weldon Spring is the facility that assists majority of Cottleville area.
FYI for traffic call 511 anywhere; cell, or land line phone.
Buckle up and stay safe...
MoDot employee - Dogs2-10-09 If you intend to walk your dogs or let your dogs run free while you watch from a window, THEN YOU NEED TO CLEAN UP THE POOP. I'm tired of cleaning up dog poop from my front yard when my dog is contained to the backyard.
- MO Highway MODOT--help numberPut this number in your cell phone....I just called the number to confirm that this indeed IS the number and it's free. She said yes to both and said it's for the St Louis METRO area only.
The telephone # below is the Missouri Department of Transportation
(MODOT) road service. This service is free and available to you
(breakdown, flat tire, etc.) along the highways in Missouri . You
probably have seen these trucks pulled over assisting others.
I thought you, friends or others in your family might like to have this
number if ever in need.
314-340-4100
Feel free to share....good info. -
I am against speeding in the subdivision and I am against tickets! Keep your speed UNDER 25. Especially where there are a lot of cars, around corners, or where kids usually play! If we don't, the speed limit will have to be reduced or start giving tickets starting at 26 MPH!!!!! Let's keep our neighborhood safe!
